This Distinctive McEWAN’S LAGER COBALT BLUE ROUND ASHTRAY is in Excellent Condition. William McEwan opened Fountain Brewery on the outskirts of Edinburgh in 1857.
McEWAN’s LAGER is written 3 times around this ashtray. McEwan’s Scottish Brewers drew heavily from imagery of the British Empire in its branding and advertising.
The McEWAN’S EXPORT BEER MAT COASTERS measure 3 1/2” x 4 1/4”. The iconic McEwan’s Export Logo of the "Laughing Cavalier” was inspired by the well-known Frans Hals painting and featured both sides of the Beer Mats. They are made in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The deep cobalt blue color of this fine McEwan’s Lager Ashtray is rich and deep. The ashtray measures 6” in diameter. The ashtray is new in appearance with no chips, cracks or breaks and very good paint with no visible scratches!
