This Distinctive McEWAN YOUNGER Ltd CARLTON WARE BLUE ASHTRAY is in Very Good Condition. William McEwan opened Fountain Brewery on the outskirts of Edinburgh in 1857. McEwan’s Scottish Brewers drew heavily from imagery of the British Empire in its branding and advertising.
The winning bidder will also receive 3 different styles of McEWAN’S EXPORT BEER MAT COASTERS The iconic McEwan’s Export Logo of the "Laughing Cavalier” was inspired by the well-known Frans Hals painting and featured on both sides of the Beer Mats. They are made in Edinburgh, Scotland.
McEWAN YOUNGER Ltd is written on the 2 long sides of this ashtray. The light blue color of this fine McEwan Younger Ltd Carlton Ware Ashtray is quite attractive and rich.
The ashtray measures 4 1/2” long, 2” tall and 3” wide. The ashtray has no chips, cracks or breaks. It is used and shows wear from age. There is visible crazing on this ceramic piece.
The bottom is marked CARLTON WARE MADE IN ENGLAND “TradeMark” B.C.M./XX7X RoNo 801671
