Description
This is a stunning Georgian Era ring. It dates from the late 1700s early 1800s. The ring is crafted from two colors of gold, rose gold & green gold. This happens when the jeweler uses different alloys to the gold to have a different color effect. This ring is hollow and filled with a brunette's hair around the back of the band. There are small scales that are cut out of the band to reveal this. The snake wraps around one and one-half times. It is hand etched to simulate the scales of a snake. The front of the snake is adorned with rose cut garnets. Each garnet is in a bezel setting and original to the ring. The garnets are in good condition with a couple of minor divots. This ring is monogrammed on the inside E.W. The ring is in very good condition for being over 200+ years old. However, let me describe the imperfections of the band. As band is notched out to reveal the hair as a mourning piece, there are spots along the notching that have indented as the composition is hollow to house the hair. But it is not too bad considering the age and rarity of this ring. The inside of the band has a crimp that is not visible from the outside. Please review the photos carefully and ask questions, I am here to assist. This ring is not intended for everyday use, more so on occasion.Measurements:
