An exquisite antique George III 22K gold and black enamel wreath of scrolls mourning ring, dated to 1768 and inscribed to Susanna Black, presented in an antique leather box. This gorgeous nice sized Georgian solid 22K gold mourning ring has been created with five lovely gold and black enamel scrolls with wonderful curling ends forming a fabulous wreath circle which looks wonderful on the finger, the inside of the ring is rounded for wearing comfort. The gold inlaid black enamel reads 'SUSANNA BLACK OB 6 JULY 1768 AE 40'. The ring has a partially obscured maker's mark inside the band and tests for 22K gold. The ring comes in a lovely antique burgundy red leather box with royal blue silk and velvet interior. The ring is approximately a size 8 1/4. The scrolling band is approximately 4mm wide at its widest point. The ring has a total weight of approximately 4.6 grams. The ring is in general very good condition with some small areas of chipping to the enamel and some areas of enamel touch ups.
