Description
A pair of unusual bottles, not many survived the period with out heavy use and wear, this pair of utilitarian designed bottles are now valued for their beautiful delicate glass and the etchings on the surface. The bottles are shaped differently and the design on them varies some . They are both marked “Patented June 20, 1916 No. 1188172” and HAWKES in the center, on one of the bottles it is very hard to see. I tried to show the mark in the photos, but it is hard to pick up with a camera, if you would like to see more pictures just let us know. They have the acid etched trefoiland hawk mark on the bottoms. The one that is narrower for the body of the bottle is marked on the inside of the rim with 50 and the other is marked with 29. They both measure about 6 1/2 in tall.
The pair are in pristine condition for table ware made 100 years ago, they do not even appear to have had a stopper in place, the interior neck has been left unground and shows no wear. One bottle has water marks on the interior of the base. Free of chips cracks or flaws.
